School Counseling

Ms. Baker began her career as a school counselor in 2003. She has worked for Granville Schools since 2011. Misti has a Master of Science degree in Education from University of Dayton with licenses in School Counseling and Educational Leadership. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from The Ohio State University.

Ms. Baker aligns the school counseling program at GIS with ASCA standards, mindsets and behaviors. She is a strong student advocate that strives to empower students to optimal mental health and wellness.


Student Services

  • Social, emotional, behavior and academic support for students and their grown-ups
  • Individual student meetings as requested by students, families and staff
  • Tier one group counseling to promote social, emotional and behavioral learning
  • Tier two small group counseling to address specific student needs
  • Classroom counseling lessons to promote mindfulness, increase student social-emotional skills and mental health literacy
  • Coordination of grade level student wellness programming
  • Consultation with staff to support student learning and wellness, and increase connectedness among students, staff and families
  • Consultation with community resources to form connections to care and support student and family wellness
  • Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) and 504 plan case management

Ruling Our eXperiences (ROX)

Ruling Our eXperiences (ROX) is a co-curricular program Granville has offered to 6th, 8th and GHS students since 2014 that focuses on the education, safety, health and empowerment of girls.  

The ROX program is a 20-lesson experience that to date, more than 50,000 students nationwide have participated in!  At Granville, ROX has many trained and certified ROX facilitators who lead the program.  Together, the students will explore the topics of team building, healthy communication, cyber safety and social media, friendships and bullying, stress and pressure, personal safety and assertiveness,  academic/career development and leadership.
